A circa 1800 Ebonised oak and pine French provincial glazed dresser. Scrolled and ornate pediment with frieze sits on an upper section with glazed doors of original glass, opening to an interior fitted with 19th century cotton floral fabric, and two shelves. The upper side of the shelves with fixed beading to display plates, or they can be turned ‘upside down’ as the fabric covers all sides, allowing books etc to be displayed. The lower section also with two doors opening to shelved storage within, and old green fabric. Carved floral and beaded design throughout, with original panelled back. Old repairs and restorations, with twist catches added to doors for closing. Lots of wear, paint loss etc, commensurate with age and use. In three sections, with glazed doors also removable for transport.
